AL-Rumman Palace Intangible heritage Documentation
In efforts to preserve intangible heritage in Northwest Saudi Arabia, a series of field projects were conducted in the Tayma area. Over three months, intensive fieldwork was carried out, including oral interviews with locals who experienced the era of Prince Abdul Karim al-Roman, and his grandson, Sheikh Nahar al-Roman. These discussions focused on the political, social, and cultural life within Al Roman Palace, and its historic significance in the collective memory of the region's residents. To innovatively revive this heritage, an interactive theatrical performance was staged in the palace, reenacting daily scenes from that era, providing visitors with a tactile and immersive historical experience.
